About the Author

Betty Boudreau Vaughan lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia with her husband of 38
years. She started writing at the age of 33 in order to document her Acadian roots for her two daughters Lisa and Angeline. That writing turned into a book, I’ll Buy You an Ox, which was published in 1997 and won the Dartmouth Book Award for fiction. This second novel, Maladies of the Mind, exemplifies Boudreau Vaughan’s thirst for learning and teaching in that it is rife with facts and events that keep the pages turning.
